I have worked with Bluebell Wood for a number of years, being involved with various running events, volunteering and Dragon Boat Racing. They began in 1998, with the vision to help families in this area who wanted an alternative to hospital care. Fundraising started when 11-year-old Richard and his mum wanted him to die at home. They have helped tired mums and dads get some much needed me-time; looked after brothers and sisters who are feeling angry, lonely or confused; and been there for families during the last moments of their child’s life.
